Sudan-Norway petroleum cooperation on track

The Minister of Petroleum Ali Ahmed Osman reiterated the strong interest of Sudan to continue cooperation with Norway when he hosted a meeting with the Embassy last Thursday.

During this week’s ambassadorial meeting in Oslo, ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud met more than ten Norwegian business companies to brief them about the opportunities and attractions of making business in Sudan.

Sudan is undergoing a comprehensive economic transition period after the independence of South Sudan inflicted serious negative effects on the national economy. Norway stands ready to help focus on the situation and works closely with the government in Khartoum preparing for a conference to be held later this year in Istanbul, graciously hosted by Turkey.

As instructors from Norwegian Petrad explained and demonstrated, participants from the north and south put their heads together to improve their knowledge and skills in oil production.
