Nobel Peace Prize Celebration in Khartoum

Last night’s big cultural event in Khartoum was the marking of the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony at the EU Delegation. The Guest of Honor H.E Dr. Jalal Al Digair was received by the Ambassador of the European Union H.E Tomas Ulicny and the Ambassador of Norway H.E Morten Aasland.

The European Film Festival 2012 Sudan will be held from 22 of November to the 2 of December. The program covers a wide variety of European film. This year’s festival will also celebrate Sudanese film, representing both the past and the future of Sudanese filmmaking.

Rashid Diab Arts Centre today opens an exhibition with the Ethiopian painter Daniel Taye. Taye’s works reflect Ethiopian history and contemporary developments and he is also a prominent portrait painter. The exhibition will be officially opened by ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud.

The Ibsen Scholarships award innovative projects in the field of drama and performing arts and projects that act as incentives for critical discourse in regards to existential and society-related subject matters concerning Henrik Ibsen and his plays. The Minister of Tourism, Antiquities and Wildlife Dr. Ahamed Babiker Ahamed Nahar discussed this and how to promote tourism with ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud last week.
