Embassy meets party leaders

In its running dialogue with a broad scope of the Sudanese society the Embassy last week met the party leaders of the Democratic Unionist Party, the UMMA party and the Popular Congress Party to discuss current developments in Sudan.
The three prominent opposition leaders gave their account on the current political and economic situation in the country, negotiations with the National Congress Party, the Constitution process as well as the regional situation and relations to South Sudan in particular, and charted out their respective party’s way forward. Ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud and first secretary Henrik Lunden also discussed the forthcoming economic conference for Sudan as a mean to improve sustainability of the Sudanese economy with the three party leaders.
